A performance of sheer will and tenacity saw Grafton hold on for a memorable 28-20 victory over Coffs Snappers on Saturday.
Grafton were on the wrong end of a lopsided penalty count in a stop-start affair but managed to come away with the competition points thanks to pure grit and determination especially in defence.
Two-try hero Villame Kalla Kele was simply superb at the back with his scintillating pace and footwork while scrum-half Michael Wright proved to be the perfect link between the forwards and backs and was rewarded with a try and four conversions.
