THE Grafton Redmen under-14s side sent a timely reminder to the rest of the competition with a barnstorming second-half performance to defeat SCU Marlins 36-12.
The first half was dominated by fundamental errors from both sides however, when Rhys Austin and Hugh Anderson scored you sensed Grafton were slowly gaining ascendency.
Leading 12-7 at the break, Grafton found another gear which saw the floodgates opened as the home side went on a try-scoring frenzy.
Archie Pope crossed the line after a brilliant individual run by Jye Hogg and not long after Anderson picked up his second five-pointer for Grafton to increase their lead to 26-7.
Redmen young gun and play-maker Tristan Messer scored a scintillating long-range try and added another soon after in a match-winning performance.
