Grafton Redmen women’s captain and five-eighth Tamar McHugh produced a player of the match performance in Grafton’s 47-0 triumph over Port Pirates on Saturday.
It was a masterclass of five-eighth play from the Redmen captain/coach who scored three tries and had a hand in several others.
Pirates showed plenty of courage in the opening stanza, however, the flood gates opened after the break as Grafton found another gear to run in four unanswered tries.
Fullback Emily Loy was outstanding at the back and picked up a double while forwards Roxy Kilduff and Jess McPherson also found the chalk.
Redmen centre Yuri Fuller was once again damaging in defence and slotted six conversions with her radar right boot.
Although Grafton produced plenty of flair and dazzle out wide it was up front where the game was won.
Jess McPherson, Roxy Kilduff and Sidneigh Skinner all produced powerhouse games making plenty of run metres and line breaks.
