COFFS Snappers sent a chilling message to the rest of the competition after they kept the previously undefeated Grafton Redmen Women’s side scoreless in a commanding 20-0 victory on Saturday.

With rain pelting down, Snappers squeezed the life out of Grafton meeting them at the advantage line in defence and upsetting Grafton’s rhythm.

In a tension-packed first half neither side were able to trouble the scoreboard attendants, however, straight after the break, Snappers scored two quick tries to skip to a 10-0 lead.

Grafton threw everything at the Snappers defence in a bid to find the tryline but to their credit Snappers remained resilient.

Grafton had several opportunities to score out wide but fell short thanks to Snappers’ pacy outside backs scrambling defence.

Snappers powered home late in the second half scoring two more five-pointers.

It was a timely wake-up call for Grafton, and realistically they might be better for the loss with the final’s series only a month away.
