GRAFTON first grade side will need to break a recent trend if they are going to give the premiership a shake.

Once again Grafton were slow out of the blocks against Snappers on Saturday and the home side took full advantage with a clinical 36-12 victory.

Grafton fell victim of an early Snappers onslaught which saw them trail 24-5 at the break.

Snappers signalled their intentions early spreading the ball wide and hitting the advantage line with purpose. Grafton struggled to keep pace with the home side and their up-tempo style play.

And just when things couldn’t get any worse, star hooker Sakenasa Hara left the field which looked like a serious knee injury.

Grafton managed stem the flow of points in the second half and showed glimpses of what they are capable of, but it was too little too late.

Grafton have a timely bye next week before heading down to Kempsey for their penultimate game of the season.
